Walking Tours
We are excited to offer self-guided walking tours of campus. These tours are designed to be approximately 60-75 minutes, but depending on your pace, route, and how long you spend at each site, this could be more or less.
Each tour will have approximately six to eight stops, a one-to two-minute explanation about what you will learn on the tour, and a worksheet for students to complete if you want to assign a walking tour as an assignment. At each individual stop, you will find a three- to five-minute audio clip explaining the history of that site, photographs of that site and the history associated with it, and links to additional primary sources, secondary sources, or other contextual material.
If you are interested in having a member of the Center for Campus History organize a walking tour for your class, department, or administrative unit, please contact Dan Berman (dberman2@wisc.edu), the Center’s Curricular Program Manager, to discuss the feasibility and options.
